Abstract/Description:	Jan Smit (left) and William Glen (right) on a field trip to the site of the impact-theory prompting anomalous iridium find near the town of Gubbio in northern Italy. Professor Smit has been instrumental in helping to clarify the nature of the mass extinction 65 million years ago that killed off 75% of all ocean species and the dinasaurs. His interview tapes with William Glen are among the most important of the more than 200 deposited at the Center for History of Physics in College Park, Maryland.
