The Shiva target chamber is being readied for diagnostic instrumentation to observe the fusion of a tiny amount of deuterium-tritium gas contained in a target smaller than a grain of sand.  The Shiva Laser System's 30 trillion watts of optical power will be focused onto the tiny fusion target located in the center of this vacuum chamber.
