Portrait of Byron Lichtenberg

Portrait of Byron Lichtenberg, NASA Payload Specialist for Spacelab I, is currently working on his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts. He is also actively involved in an experiment which is to be flown on Spacelab I. Between 1969 and 1973 Mr. Lichtenberg served in the U.S. Air Force. He received two distinguished flying crosses during his tour of duty in Vietnam. At the present time, his is a fighter pilot in the Massachusetts' Air National Guard flying F-100 Super Sabres. Born in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1948, Mr. Lichtenberg holds a bachelor of sciences degree from Brown University, Providence Rhode Island (1969). He did his graduate work at MIT, receiving his masters degree in 1975. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lichtenberg of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, he is married and resides with his wife Lee in Natick, Massachusetts, with their son and daughter.
