Abstract/Description:	L-R: High school student Lindsey Davenport, Mike Haas, Martin Burgdorf, Ed Erickson and Sean Colgan, 1985, starting pre-flight checkout of the Ames Cryogenic Grating Spectrometer (CGS). Haas, Erickson and Colgan were at NASA Ames. Burgdorf was a German post-doctoral associate in Erickson's group. A few Kuiper Airborne Observatory (KAO) investigators mentored high school students, but they never flew on the KAO.
