John Hartz

Text on back of photograph: John J. Hartz becomes vice president of tire development.  Hartz, who had been director of tire development since 1964, is responsible for all the Goodyear company's tire development, engineering and rubber compounding programs as well as its tire testing facilities. A native of Evansville, Ind., he joined Goodyear after he was graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1929 with a degree in chemical engineering. From 1951 to 1953, he was in charge of production for the company's Japanese subsidiary, located in Kurume.
