Fastie Inspects Apparatus

William Fastie inspects the Rowland famous equivalent of heat experiment apparatus that was used to measure the ratio between ergs and calories by putting mechanical energy in and measuring the temperature rise. It produced the most precise measurement of that ratio that had been produced to that time and the modern value is still within the experimental limits that Rowland found., Credit Line: AIP Emilio Segrè Visual Archives
