Abstract/Description: | Naval Research Laboratory team, that designed and constructed a liquid nitrogen cooled payload with three near-infrared telescopes reaching out to wavelengths of 7.5 micrometers, poses for photograph. Photo shows Martin Harwit, the principal investigator, seated with hands on knees. Blair Zajac, co-investigator, kneeling and wearing a tie. Ray Thomas, technician, kneeling with checkered shirt. In the back row, third from left is technician Robert Lancaster. First to the left of the payload is technician Arnold Lange; to his left is co-investigator Kandiah Shivanandan. To the immediate right of the payload is co-investigator Douglas P. McNutt. Next to him is electronics engineer John M. Reece. All others were members of the NRL mechanical and electronic construction shops. |
