Bubble chamber photograph of the production of the Omega Minus

Bubble chamber photograph of the production of the Omega Minus: A negative K-meson enters the picture from the bottom (track #1) and collides with a proton. The collision produces the Omega Minus (track #3), a positive K-meson (track #2), and a neutral K-meson (which like other neutral particles leaves no track because it has no charge). The Omega Minus decays into a negative pi-meson (track #4), and a neutral Xi. Decay products of the Xi are a neutral lambda, and a neutral pi-meson (no track for it is indicated because it decays instantaneously). The lambda decays into a negative pi-meson (track #5) and a proton (track #6). The neutral pi-meson decays instantaneously into two gamma rays which convert into electron-positron pairs (positrons are positively-charged electrons -- the electron's antimatter counterpart)., Credit Line: Photo courtesy Brookhaven National Laboratory.
