Exterior view of linac from low energy end

Exterior view of linac from low energy end. The Zero Gradient Synchrotron (ZGS) Linac, gives the proton beam a second thrust of speed and energy, preparing it for final acceleration in the ZGS. The Linear Acceleratory (Linac) is located just outside the ring and magnet building of the Zero Gradient Proton Synchrotron's at Argonne National Laboratory.
