Bromley Adjusting Neutron Threshold Detection Apparatus
Abstract/Description: | Caption courtesy D. Allan Bromley: "Allan Bromley adjusting the neutron threshold detection apparatus that had been transported from Chalk River to the High Voltage Engineering factory in Burlington, Massachusetts, where the world's first tandem accelerator was under construction. These neutron threshold measurements were designed to provide absolute energy calibration for the tandem accelerator beam; these were the first measurements ever carried out with a tandem accelerator with proton beam ranging up to 10 MeV." |
